The first steps towards your own isse

First, you must have your entire issue as one continuous PDF. The PDF should not be in full print resolution, it is enough if the PDF contains images scaled up to 150dpi. The PDF should contain individual pages in portrait mode.

How do I import my pdf documents and other data in the PadPublisher?

Make sure that your computer and your iPad are in the same wireless network (Wi-Fi) and are connected to the Internet. On the iPad you find the name of the network in Settings-> Wi-Fi.

Warning: You must have iPad Wi-Fi access to the Internet. The following method is not usable if your iPad has a 3G Internet connection!

Start the PadPublisher on iPad and tap the icon at the bottom right corner of the home screen.

Tap on the "issues" button.

Open the desired issue in PadPublisher. The details of the selected issue are shown.

You will see a switch "file import". Switch this one to "on".

Then a http address is displayed. Please type this exactly as they appears on your iPad in the address bar of your computer.

IMPORTANT: It must match exactly and the iPad must be running and showing this app during the whole process! (NOT
the url from the image but the one on YOUR iPad.)

Import via the browser

You see now - and only when PadPublisher is active  –you have an initially empty table in which you can load the data.

Please rename your PDF "issue.pdf"- please note that the file name must be exactly as it is specified here.

You can also import a cover image (file name must be cover.jpg).

Information on other files can be imported, such as video, you will get later a section of importable files (assets).

Upload now the data you want to import in this issue into the browser. Make sure that you have selected the correct files!

Before the import:

After the Import:

Attention!!! The data is not yet in your iPad. See the following section.

Select the data on your iPad for further editing!

Only after pressing the button "reload assets" the data is uploaded into your iPad and associated with the chosen issue.

Now you can close the page (x top right). In your browser on your PC or Mac an error message will
appear stating that the server is gone, which has no more relevance.

WARNING: Should this error message
appear in the browser before you close the window it was to early or the iPad went into sleep mode. You need to start the procedure again.
