The PadPublisher consists of two modules: the PadPublisher and the reader-app. The PadPublisher is the module with which the publisher or producer of content imports the assets into the app and creates the magazine, brochure or catalog app. If the magazine, brochure or catalog is completed and everything is satisfactory for the publisher or producer, the generated content is sent to area851. This is done automatically by the PadPublisher. Area851 loads then the actual reader App in the Apple account of the publisher.
After Apple has approved this app for publication it will appear in the Apple iTunes Store and will be available for download. The reader App is then available as both iPad App and iPhone app on demand of the publisher.
The publisher also decides if he wants to offer the app free of charge or if it would be a paid app to be downloaded and installed on the iPad, iPad 2, iPhone or iPod touch.
The PadPublisher can only be used on the iPad and is delivered directly to the publisher or editor by area851. The reader app is in Apple's iTunes App Store and can be downloaded from any end user. The publisher or the editor publish also the description and accompanying screenshots on in the iTunes Store.
The publisher or the editor may, after the reader app is released containing the first copy in Apple's iTunes Store, submit further issues and announce them through "push-notification". The customer can either download the new editions for free or as paid app based on the publishers policy.
A separate App for the Winter Games
Area851 supported by PadPublisher is partner to the Winter Games in 2018 in München as a friend of the App. The National Sponsors of the application are: Adidas, Allianz, BayWa, BMW, München Airport, Lotto, Lufthansa, the German Savings Banks and Giro Association.
